Awesome, thank you Mehedi – I will reach out to support right now! 🙂

Another update: The “undefined” seems to happen exclusively on the featured image upload field – and I’ve tried jpg, png, gif, ranging in size from small (52kb) to 2MB.

I removed the featured image upload field – and the form doesn’t submit. No error, it just gives the spinning circle near the submit button and never does anything else.

    **AN UPDATE TO THIS POST**

I let the form sit from earlier — the spinning circle is still just sitting there spinning (an hour later) and the form is not submitting. This form is just the default post one that comes with WPUF – the only change is I removed the featured image field to see if it would work without it due to the ‘undefined’ error above.

I posted this over on my review, but wanted to also tag it in here. Even tho frustrated, I would *love* for this plugin to work — the entire reason I started using WP for many of my customer sites is I was tired of custom-coding sites in ColdFusion… and this plugin *seems* like it could truly solve some issues I’m having… if I could only get it to work.

So – update from couple days ago on the other thread:

As an update – and just to make sure I had not missed anything I could try on my side – I have deactivated all plugins (again) with the exception of WPUF, CPT UI, and ACF.

The default “Post Form” that is installed with the plugin works… once. Any attempt to use the same exact form again results in the “undefined” message and nothing else.

As soon as I make *ANY* change to any field – even something as simple as removing the category drop-down field… the form no longer works.

I made a blank form – the only fields on it are Post Title and Post Content, nothing else. It does not work.

This isn’t even using or trying to access any ACF’s or CPT’s. Short of having zero other plugins installed, I’m not sure what else I could do from my side to troubleshoot.

Trying to think outside the box here… could it have anything to do with caching, or something on the server side that (with this particular customer) I do not have access to? I’m truly at a loss because I know the plugin seems to work well for other people & I’m not trying to do anything out of the ordinary or overly difficult with it.

I would have loved the opportunity to find out what the other issues could have been… but without any type of assistance that is rather difficult to do. The rating I gave was based on two things — (1) the inability to get any type of support on a plugin that I truly hoped to purchase a dev license for since I could make great use of it on multiple sites I currently have and will be building, (and yes, I did wait for a reply which I was told by Vicky on your live chat that should have been within 24 hours or less and that I should have received an email which never arrived in my inbox, spam, or anywhere else) and (2) the (more obvious) inability to get it to work, even straight out of the box with the simplest standard post form, when the only other plugins installed are ones that allegedly work with this plugin (ACF).

And the chat over on the wpuf site has been completely unhelpful & seemingly unwilling to try to BE helpful. At this rate I’ll just code the damned thing in PHP myself FFS.

Anyone? I was going to buy this plugin, but at this rate, I’m thinking not. :/

    Ahh, James, you are awesome!

So.. now the odd thing here, is that as soon as I mass disabled all of my plugins the popup showed up as expected, with the dismiss message… as I re-enabled each one individually, it still showed up correctly until I finally went ahead and dismissed the popup.

kinda scratching my head at this one… but hey, it seems to be fixed, at least I was able to dismiss that message and can get some content added without the headache! 😀

I did all the updates on another WP site which uses the same exact plugins, and it did not have the same issue… however, on that other site I had previously dismissed the popups, so that could have been the difference.

Anyway… seems all is well (for now!)…. thanks again you have helped restore some of my sanity today!! 🙂

    hahah I know, right?

Ok, so I’ve tried it in Chrome and Safari on OS X 10.10.3 with both browsers up to date according to whatbrowser.org

I also tried it on both Firefox and IE on Win7 Ult, both FF and IE showing up to date also.

Cleared out cookies, history, cache, etc., same issue.

It didn’t start happening… that I noticed… until after updating the WordPress today, however, I am just building this site starting last night and didn’t start putting posts on there until today… it easily could have been that way the whole time and I just didn’t notice.

The plug ins I use are the same plug ins I use on other sites, and I’m not running into that issue there.

Trying an experiment… I’m going to do the update on another WP site I have and see if it does the same thing… will report back shortly 😀

    Hi, James,

Thanks for the quick response! There should be for sure… but there isn’t an X on the popups. That’s part of what is making me mental about it, there seems to be no way to close the little popup box… I’ve even run my mouse over ever pixel of that annoying little box thinking something would show up… and no X. LOL

    Take a look here
