Thanks for you prompt and helpful response – the snippet worked and was easy to implement with the Code Snippets plugin.

Happy to close this as a working workaround.

Thanks Amjad Ali,

Your advice is helpful, however as the .xyz domains have been available since 2014, I think that this is more of a bug and would hope that an update would be released to solve the issue, rather than what is essentially a workaround.
