so nothing seemed to work and i actually just gave up in the end and deleted the old website (after backing to up on my computer just in case)

now it works! Had to reload some images, but nothing tragic.
Thanks for the help any way!

Sorry, what i forgot to mention…

When I changed the Site Url in the Wp dashboard to mysite.com, and updated my permalinks, I could now see all of my new pages as i wantd to see them (mysite.com/gallery instead of mysite.com/wordpress/gallery)

The only Page that still appeared as the old site was the home page (mysite.com)

I want to use the same domain.

Currently the old site is showing on mysite.com.
I now want the new site to show on mysite.com

Currently the new site is under mysite.com/wordpress.

I’ve redirected on the cPanel already but got an error 500 (Internal Server error)
I also then had no more access to my WP dashboard.

So, I changed it back, and in the WP dashboard – General Settings I changed the Site Address (Url) from mysite.com/wordpress to mysite.com
I left the WordPress Address (Url) as it was: mysite.com/wordpress

I then went back to my cPanel, and tried redirecting again.
I could now see the home page of the new site, but if i click on any other page, i once again got the Error 500, and again I had no access to my WP dashboard.

Again I changed everything back in the cPanel, and now in the WP dashboard, I updated my permalinks.

Redirected in cPanel again, and now I see the new sites home page minus images, and still get an error 500 for any other pages i try to view.

This is where i am now…
