In reply to: WP asks for FTP despite 777 permissionsAh, so unless I am reinstalling wordpress or wiping the whole install, it should stay solved?

In reply to: WP asks for FTP despite 777 permissionsI don’t get it, that page recommends having all the files owned by the user. Wouldn’t that cause the original problem?
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: WP asks for FTP despite 777 permissionsThe main problem is that whenever I ftp files, it will cause the problem again because I don’t log in as ftp as www-data.
Normal hosts don’t have this problem, how do they do it? Do they have files uploaded as www-data regardless of the login that was used?

In reply to: WP asks for FTP despite PHP & Apache being same group as FTP userI think the uploads problem is different than permissions. I’ll ask separately and elsewhere.

In reply to: Upgrade to 3.1: Features disappear.Whoops, I was wrong. After some weird inconsistent results (the first time I disabled the contact form plugin and the options came back) I instead disabled all my plugins and the extra options were still gone. Idk what this means. If it’s not the plugins what can it be? The only thing that has changed in the past week is 2 new plugins, exec-php (for php in posts) and various contact form plugins and also the upgrade to 3.1.

In reply to: Upgrade to 3.1: Features disappear.Okay, I figured out that it was the contact form plugin. This is a very big problem. I tried about 5 different contact form plugins and they all seem to make the extra options disappear. Does anybody know a good contact form plugin that doesn’t do this?

In reply to: Limiting number of pages allowed on an install?I tried googling and searching but I can only find people who are trying to remove limits, not impose them.
I can’t figure it out at all.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Help getting started with themesNevermind, i figured it out by myself, it was a space in the folder name for the theme.
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Help getting started with themes-_- did you read my first post at all? I renamed everything to txt otherwise apache would try to run index.php and you wouldn’t have access to the files.
