I wasn’t able to use that code in my CSS Editor but I was able to use the following:
.fixed-menu {
background-color: #990066;
}
Using this code I was able to change the background color of the top-nav bar
.fixed-menu {
background-color: #990066;
}

Would love to change the “Read More” text on the 3 column feature on the homepage to read “Contact Us”. English is good.
