I have the same question. Here’s the document I received from Paypal. https://www.paypal-knowledge.com/resources/sites/PAYPAL/content/live/FAQ/1000/FAQ1766/en_US/2015%20Merchant%20Security%20System%20Upgrade%20Guide%20(U.S.%20English).pdf
Apparently, Paypal is moving the SSL certificates on our endpoints to stronger encryption known as SHA-256 starting after September 30, 2016. Compatibility with SHA-256 will help strengthen your protection and ensure that your business systems are up to date with the latest security measures. But, I don’t use a SSL certificate on my website. All orders are sent directly to PayPal using WP Ultra simple shopping cart. My website is hosted on GoDaddy, with I’m sure is https compliant.
Is there anything I need to do?
Is anybody there?
I am having the same problem, even today. I just received another e-mail from PayPal with the notice and this link: http://imaginehair.com/wp-content/plugins/wp-ultra-simple-paypal-shopping-cart/paypal.php
I am running WP 4.6 and shopping cart 4.3.9.3 (even though when you open up the shopping cart plugin, and go to the “Usage” page, it says 4.3.9.2)
I’m concerned, and don’t know how to fix this. I don’t want to change shopping carts, but don’t know what else to do. Would appreciate some guidance.
Thanks,
Steve
