Anybody?
I’ve had the same thing also, it’s getting very annoying! Could somebody from s2member please give us some info?
It’s been happening on and off for months, various versions of s2member and wordpress.
Did anybody have any more thoughts on this? The question is essentially –
If I close the S2Member site will the regular payments already setup with Paypal continue?
Thanks for the info.
I’m really not too worried about the roles or the user login, we can archive the S2Member details when we close off the old site and manage that manually going forward. Also, I don’t need paypal to transfer subscriptions, I just want to ensure those which are setup will continue to run (ie we will continue to receive the regular payments) once the S2Member site is closed.
As I said we don’t really use S2member as it was intended, it essentially just a handy way to start and stop regular payments. As long as the payments already setup will continue, I’m happy. We’ll have a new way to start new payments and a workaround to stop the S2member ones as and when subscribers need to.
It’s simply because we’re not using it as it was originally intended we’ve need to implement a few manual work arounds. That’s fine with a handful of subscribers but when you get to 3 figures or more it’s not sustainable.
Can you clarify what implications you can foresee?
“I’m not sure if you’re asking why he wasn’t taken to the page directly after login”
I’m having this exact issue at the moment.
I have supplied members with a specific URL in order for them to upgrade their accounts at a discount, however if they are not logged in when they access that URL directly (by typing it in the address bar) it’s difficult.
This is what I want to happen:
User accesses URL with protected content -> is shown login page -> logs in -> is shown protected content
Currently the user is shown the membership options page when they access the protected content but it’s just a blank page as I don’t use it.
Any ideas?
