Are you referring to managing any custom post types in addition to ‘product’, then you can have a check with Smart Manager Beta (a beta of the completely revamped Smart Manager capable of handling any custom post type and any custom field).

How do i change the style of the sign up box? i’d like it to have a border, add a line of intro copy and the submit button only shows up on hover/rollover.

Use Rainmaker‘s form to redirect subscribers to a custom thank you page after they have subscribed on your site.

I just subscribed on your site using the widget form using [email protected]. Were you able to see this entry in Subscribers tab?
