For anyone stumbling across this, I managed to resolve the issue with the folowing steps:
- I changed to the generatepress theme
- I had this plugin activated at the network level of my multisite WP install. I deactivated it there, and activated it on the individual site
- I cleared out/reset all of link juicer keywords and settings
After doing all this, i was able to add keywords and they were found and links were created by the indexing process. I have no idea which step or combination of steps actually fixed the issue, but am glad it’s working and hope others running into inexplicable issues migt benefit from what I did.
I’ve also tried switching to the wordpress twenty twenty-three theme and it still doesnt work
