My guess is that this was related to the kinda severe security issues that existed up until 6.15.9 and the release of the Wordfence report on 04.11.2025. By force pushing 6.15.11, they made sure everybody has a fixed version.

I just did some experimenting.
If I add these custom fields to the “Address” section, then the translation works. However, if I put them in the third section “Additional Information”, then the translation doesn’t work. So something must be wrong with this third section, since the translations themselve do work.

The sanitisation setting is active and has always been active. There is no new content to import, I’m afraid, so it can’t be a hiccup when importing new content.
I have tried it multiple times now and can always reproduce the issue when switching the PHP version.
However, I found the culprit:
With PHP 8.2 active, it uses IPv4 to retrieve the data via Google API. This works, as I’ve allowed access for the IPv4 address in the Google API settings. PHP 8.3 on the other hand apparently uses IPv6, so I had to add the IPv6 address to the Google API settings as well.
Your plugin only shows the IPv4 address and recommends adding this address to the Google API settings, so I recommend showing the IPv6 address in your plugin settings as well, urging users to add this to the Google API settings too.

“Reviews and Ratings” works with the Places API, while “We’re Open!” works with the Places API (New). The link in the error message pointed me to the Places API (without new!) though, that’s why I thought it was already activated.
After activating the Places API (New), everything works 🙂

I’m glad that it’s working again and I am still using and trusting your plugin.
However, I’ll keep the review up as it is for the time being, while I monitor future updates. This was the second time a major update broke a couple of things that should have been obvious in testing before release. It’s good that you fix these issues relatively fast after public backlash, but these two updates should never have been released in this form, breaking basic stuff, in the first place.
Third strike would be a deal breaker for me, so I hope you’ll improve testing before releasing updates in the future, because it’s a very good plugin after all (when it works).
Had to update it again, unfortunately.

There was contant improvement from 5.0 to 5.0.9, but now 5.1.0 effectively removes a lot of functionality again, which in theory is still there, it just doesn’t work any more.
My old backup jobs from the 4.x days, which ran fine with versions up until 5.0.9, have now been disabled with 5.1.0 and there is no way to enable them again.
Scheduling always creates jobs at 00:00, no matter what time I specify.
This is repeating the 5.0.0 release mistakes!

Yes, all the imported reviews do indeed have a date specified. I’d like to preserve that date though and not tamper with it, especially since adding date=”Y” to the shortcode used to work as intended. Even if I changed the “Submitted” date in the backend, I think it would still show “a month ago” and so on on the frontend. Or it might be that I misunderstand you here.
In any case, I’m looking forward to an update at some point. Like I said though, it’s not a big issue, so take your time 🙂
