Our reminders within the OptinMonster for WordPress plugin typically have a close button at the top right. This will allow you to dismiss the reminder as needed.
You can also unsubscribe from our email updates if you’d like. To do so, click the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of the emails.
And if you still feel like you’re getting too many reminders please reach out to our support team. We’d be happy to review your account and see what we can do.

You’re right, all discounts are applied only to the first term of your subscription, whether that is the first month or the first year.
This is similar to the way a 20% discount at a clothing store doesn’t enable a 20% discount for life, but rather provides a discount on the purchase you’re making at that time.
