I think I found a solution for the missing
authorproperty. On a test site I replicated the issue, then de-activated the Yoast SEO plugin. When I re-activated the plugin there was a prompt under Yoast SEO on the Plugins screen to finish the first-time setup. I’ve been using the plugin for several years and always installed the updates, but don’t recall seeing that prompt before.
After completing the first time setup and refreshing the page I could see the Article block is now present on a page where I set the type to Article, with the
authorproperty, and with word count in the schema which was also missing before.Hi Maybellyne,
Thank you for the reply. When I compare the schema example on https://schema.org/author with that on my page the author is handled differently. On the schema.org example there is a top level type of BookSeries and its
authorproperty has a type of Person. On my page with Yoast SEO there are two distinct types at the top level: WebPage and Person, but neither uses the
authorproperty.I would like to follow these Google recommendations for article and author schema. Under ‘Recommended properties’ the first property is
author, but when I check the generated schema on my page which is set to the articles type of Article theauthorproperty is not used.If there is a page on the website which should have the same article schema format as a post, is this possible to achieve under the ‘What type of page or content is this?’ settings on a page?
For example – I have a page and a post which are both articles with the following settings under Schema when editing the post / page:
Post
Page type: Default for Posts (Web Page)
Article type: Default for Posts (Article)Page
Page type: Web Page
Articles type: ArticleHowever, the schema that is output is different on the page and the post, even though they have the same settings?
Is it possible to achieve output like the example on schema.org and to use Google’s recommended property on a page with the schema settings in the plugin? These work great on posts, it’s just pages where I would also like to have this output when they are set to Web Page and Article.
Thank you.

In reply to: [Glue for Yoast SEO & AMP] Admin in Yoast not looking correctHi, I have the same issue with the AMP settings – although the site doesn’t use the Polylang plugin. Were you able to find a solution to this?
Many thanks.
