    Hi @ooksanen,

I wanted to personally reach out and let you know that we have just released a major update (v2.0.0) that completely addresses all the issues you highlighted in your review!

Here is what we have done:

    1. Complete Cross-Browser Compatibility: We completely retired the experimental CSS ::scroll-button and ::scroll-marker pseudo-elements. They have been replaced by standard HTML buttons and dot indicators powered by an ultra-lightweight Vanilla JS engine (<5kb) with zero dependencies. The carousel now works smoothly and consistently on Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge, and all mobile browsers.
    2. Gutenberg Layout & Sidebar Fixes: We have thoroughly redesigned the editor CSS integration. The broad :has() selector rules that interfered with Gutenberg’s sidebar layout and canvas scrolling have been removed and precisely scoped. The block editor now behaves perfectly without any side-effects on the WordPress UI.

If you have a moment, we would love for you to update to the latest version and give it another spin. If you feel these major improvements have made the plugin much better, we would be incredibly grateful if you would consider updating your rating.

Thank you again for your constructive feedback—it was crucial in helping us make this plugin better for everyone!

    Best regards

Thank you so much for this wonderful 5-star review!

We are absolutely thrilled to hear that the plugin works like a charm for your custom post types and integrates seamlessly with the Gutenberg editor. Keeping it lightweight, clean, and focused on native performance without bloating it with unnecessary settings is exactly what we aimed for.

Your kind words and support mean the world to us! If you ever have any questions or future suggestions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Best regards

    Hi Marie-Anne,

I have some absolutely wonderful news for you! Instead of weeks or months, it only took a few days! 🚀

I am thrilled to let you know that version 2.0.0 is officially live and available for update right now in your WordPress dashboard.

I have completely refactored the plugin’s architecture to solve this exact issue:

    1. Full Browser Compatibility: We have completely removed the experimental CSS ::scroll-* pseudo-elements and replaced them with standard, native HTML navigation buttons and pagination dots. The plugin is now 100% compatible with Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Edge, and all modern mobile and desktop browsers.
    2. Lightweight & Fast: Instead of loading heavy third-party libraries (like Swiper or Slick), the controls are powered by a super-lightweight, vanilla JavaScript script (less than 5KB) combined with native CSS scroll-snap. Your excellent Lighthouse and Core Web Vitals performance scores remain completely untouched!
    3. Improved Editor Experience: You will also see the navigation arrows and interactive pagination dots directly inside your Gutenberg editor exactly like on the frontend, with computed padding detection.
    4. Interactive Dot Tracking: Clicking the pagination dots will slide to the corresponding post, and the active dot is synchronized in real-time as you scroll thanks to a lightweight IntersectionObserver.

You can simply update Any Block Carousel Slider to version 2.0.0 directly from your WordPress updates page, and it should work instantly on Firefox!

Thank you so much for your patience, your kind words, and for giving me the motivation to speed up this major milestone. Let me know if everything works perfectly on your end!

    Best regards,
    Arthur

Hello Marie-Anne, Thank you very much for your message.
Yes, the plugin uses an experimental feature called ::scroll, which is not yet supported by Firefox and Safari.
    https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/Selectors/::scroll-button#browser_compatibility
I initially thought of using this new feature, expecting it to be supported by all modern browsers soon, but in reality, it still isn’t, and no future compatibility date is planned at the moment.
I’m planning to change the plugin’s functionality to revert to a more classic JavaScript carousel, which guarantees compatibility with all browsers.
This is a significant change that will require some development time.
Therefore, I can confirm that I will implement this change, but I can’t give you a precise date at the moment.
Thank you very much for your understanding.
    Arthur

Hi Yasin, many thanks for your feedback!
It really helps me with the visibility of the plugin and improving new features.

I’m planning to add the autoplay feature soon. It will need a bit of JavaScript, but I’ll keep it as light as possible to maintain the best performance while respecting accessibility preferences (like prefers-reduced-motion).

Meanwhile, you can set up auto-updates for the plugin so you’ll receive the feature as soon as it’s available.

    Many thanks again!

Ok thank you for your reply,
I can see the issu now,
There are multiple ways to do a carousel
You can do a carousel of post by using the “Query loop” and a “Post template” block as “Carousel”.
In this case, each wordpress post inside the loop will be a slide of the carousel.
But I don’t think that is what you need here.
I can see that you want to manually add slides to the carousel so here is what you need.
First remove the “Query loop” and “Post template” blocks because you will not need theme.
Transform your “Columns” block into a “Group” block and change the display to Grid and make it a “Carousel”.
Transform your “Column block to “Group” block. They will be automatically consider as “Slides” of your “Carousel” as they are the direct childs of the “Carousel”.
Now you can manage your columns number on the “Carousel”.
