Thank you so much Caroline! I ended up trying something else. I created a sidebar listing our events manually (we don’t have many) without using the Events Calendar widget. But I linked those events to the Events Calendar part of our site. It seems to work and when I’m not using the widget, the numbering isn’t a problem.
