Hey I ran into the same issue. The dismiss link was present, but I had to find this thread to figure out that is what I needed to click. I almost uninstalled thinking it was broken.
I would suggest making the link more prominent like wrapping it in a button or something. Or just not having a blocking screen across the whole plugin.
