What I need to know is which file do I copy and paste so that I can create a static page with the same layout as the standard opening page in the theme.
And then which sections do I copy and paste to the new static page, so that I can add my own info below it?

it was my homepage from my old theme, but I love the featured pictures for posts. Also is there a way to feature posts from certain categories only, just like the front page does? Though, That may be asking too many things in this discussion topic.

I also, got the posts with thumbnails to show up using the coding provided on the page you directed me to. THis is really exciting! =)
I was still curious what coding I should use / cut out if I wanted to show the full post, instead of just the excerpt. Would you mind showing me what this code would be, please?
