Yeah, I do see your ‘overkill’ point, but like the idea of a dedi plugin for it.
I know that a lot of people have a gazillion and one tags, so for them it would probably be overwhelming unless the suggested dedicated plugin accessed and managed the ‘term_group’ availability in the wp_terms table.
I already input most of my current and future tags to describe the theme of my content, though, and the tag cloud is so limiting in that capacity.
And to be honest, even the auto-complete function doesn’t access my tags like I want, but that is definitely no discredit to your plugin. Everything else works brilliantly.
I know what I want… I just don’t have the time or training to write amazing plugins like yours 🙂
