Nope, upgrading to wp 4.0 didn’t help… I tried it out in a development site, also deactivating all the plugins but no way.

Hi Joachim,
I’m afraid I have tried out most possibilities, including the code without the variable, replacing a widget zone created specifically, including wpml languages and excluding them…
Maybe a WordPress upgrading will help? I’m running php 5.3 , mysql 5.1 and wp version 3.8.4.

Hi,
I think I have tried all the publishing options. In manual handled have a <? display_ca_sidebar( $args ); ?> argument into the <aside>, and you can see the settiongs of the sidebar in this image https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BycQlUJJ6b-Pd19qMVRwZUwtTDg/view?usp=sharing
