No one told me to use it. I pulled up the site on my mobile phone before installing the plugin and it does not look right. This prompted me to research WHY it didn’t look right and led me to a plugin.

I don’t know, I’m not a super tech-savvy person. I’m good with computers but never ventured into web stuff until this year. I’m just a writer. It’s frustrating that my old free account was more self-explanatory and easy to figure out than an account I’m actually paying for. If I had the money I’d just hire someone to fix all of this, but I don’t (yet) so I’m left trying to do it myself. I just want it to look the same on a mobile phone as it used to, where the theme was the same, but looked appropriate size-wise and navigation-wise for a smartphone. I don’t want my readers to get annoyed with my site, or just stop coming to it, because they have to be at a computer in order to use it. I, myself, wouldn’t have much patience with those sites because I have a phone all the time, but I’m not at a computer all day.

It did get moved from the .com site. The format is back to being weird. Apparently it does need a plugin of some kind…

I haven’t modified anything that I know of. I’m a very new user, so I don’t know enough about CSS to mess with anything. My rule is, if I don’t know, I leave it alone. I don’t know what clearing the caching plugin means.

I did, however, double check the site from my iPhone last night and it had converted to a mobile-compatible theme (this with the plugin activated) but it had a weird picture on the front page – red candles. The posts were in plain fonts, nothing like the old “.wordpress.com” account that converted the Spun theme to look exactly the way it’s supposed to, but magnified for a smartphone screen.

I have since deactivated the plugin as per your instructions. I’m going to see if it goes back to the old look (too small for mobile screen). Maybe I just need to change the # of posts per front page, as I had increased that on this site. Maybe it just has to be a lower number to look right on a smartphone.

It still doesn’t convert even with no plugin. That’s what prompted me to go look for a plugin.
