The update cannot be installed because WordPress 2.9 requires MySQL
version 4.1.2 or higher. You are running version 4.0.27.However, under phpinfo I show I am running PHP Version 5.2.11.

In reply to: Comments go to 404I had the same issue after setting up an email for posting. I disabled all the plugins and the issue was resolved. I have seen this several times before with plugins. (I also went to http://…/wp-mail.php and that clean out something in the mailbox.)

check “Disable the visual editor when writing” under user settings and save – then uncheck “Disable the visual editor when writing” and save again.
This fixed the issue for me. I think it was a switch getting stuck.
