Deleting cached files fixed it! Thank you.
I was able to solve my problem by going to customize > front page content and changing the display from static to latest post.
So I need to completely uninstall wordpress and then reinstall it to make the theme work properly???
That is probably the issue. I am using asmallorange (small plan). Do I need to upgrade to the option with SSL and that will fix the issue?
