The calendar plugin that I’m using is called Time-ly All-In-One Event calendar. We really like it, but recently it has been causing problems with updates to our Slider. I have another update to go through and am taking all kinds of precautions with both of them.
Just got back today and connected to my cpanel. Deleted the file folder that you said and I was able to connect on WordPress to my plugins page. I tried to install again two more times and had to each time manually delete this folder.
Before I gave up, I thought I would deactivate my calendar plugin to make sure that it was not conflicting with the slider. Bingo! now everything is up and running and I will remember this for future updates.
Thanks for your help!well, i thought the easiest was going to be uninstalling both.
1.) I deactivated the old version, then deleted.
2.)Activated the new version – will not show on the website.
3.)Deactivated and deleted the new version.
4.)Reinstalled the new version.
I now have no slider and cannot get to my plugins page (shows blank) just like before.
Not very convenient timing since I am going on vacation for a few days. I will try to connect through the cpanel in my hosting site. Last time when this happened, I had to have them redo everything for me.
If you have another solution, please let me know.
I really like this slider! No, that was the only update. I just went to my plugins page again and I see that i have both version of meta-slider installed: 2.7.2 and 2.7.2. The newest version has not been activated and the older version says in needs to be upgraded. What is the best way to proceed?
I wondered if it was the theme! I am using a child theme, so was able to add the above CSS line to override it.
Works like a charm!!!

In reply to: [Timely All-in-One Events Calendar] The plugin does not have a valid header.Ok. Nevermind. Found other troubleshooting here:
http://community.time.ly/forum/troubleshooting/theme-and-plugin-conflicts_aa/46-not-sure-if-you-have-a-theme-or-plugin-conflict-test-hereAnd tested for conflicts with my other plugins. Apparently it is conflicting and I can now get it to work.
