I’m logged in as a Product Manager and it (correctly) won’t let me publish a new Product custom post, however it does allow me to edit and publish any of the many pre-existing posts which I do not want.

@omarelhawary Hi Omar. I’ve only just see your message above but I thought I’d already sent you a video in my previous message. However now that I look back at my message the links seem to go to stationary images. Maybe due to the time elapsed. Anyhow, I’ll go do it again and get back to you hopefully later this week (as I need to reactivate members and set this up again.)
I’ve done what you suggested (see here https://screenrec.com/share/Pbev1XN7an ) but the Events did not appear as a pinned item on the left hand side as yours did. It has made no difference though. As you can see here ( https://screenrec.com/share/HpEmZjWThe) when the Product Manager adds a new product it works as desired and the user can’t make the post go live. However they can still modify an existing product post and “Update” to make it go live as you can see here https://screenrec.com/share/qCTdtQ4OkX . Any suggestions ?
Steve@omarelhawary Hi Omar. Just checking that this is still on your radar..? If Members can’t do this would you be able to suggest an alternative that would please? I don’t mind paying a reasonable amount for a service that can allow creating ACF posts and editing others’ but witholding the ability to make them be published.
@omarelhawary Hi Omar – they are custom post types created using ACF Pro. Apologies if that was not clear – in my initial request I mentally differentiated between “posts” and “pages” but I guess that in WordPress-speak they can become a bit conflated.
@omarelhawary Hi Omar. I have done that but it does not stop the Product Manager from both editing and then Updating pre-existing posts. (I’m puzzled as to how enabling those extra capabilities you suggested might result in the ability to Update being blocked…). I’m looking to allow creation of new, and editing of existing, posts but not to publish and make live.

@omarelhawary Hi Omar. I’ve copied the setup from your screenshot exactly but now the user cannot edit others’ posts. Just to state what I’m trying to achieve: I want the Product Manager user role to be able to create their own (ACF) posts and also to edit others’ posts but to not be able to publish – merely to submit them for approval and publishing.
This would allow my product to create their own posts, make corrections and updates to pre-existing posts, but not to publish.
Is this possible?

PS Omar, onm a separate, unimportant but useful note, what exactly is the function of the blocks that are offered in this messaging service please? If there is an explanation somewhere would you be so good as to point me at it please?
