Rest assured, I am aware of this now and working on it! I actually had a related fix (unreleased) for a similar problem against an recent/earlier version of WP. However, it seems that WP 3.3.x is breaking things again. I also noticed at least one other quicktag-related plugin getting broken as well. Nice. 🙁

I was able to fix it by making a small change to the readme.txt and checking it in.
