Thanks for the reference. There are still problems with the auto-generated reference: not all the parameters are actually covered. ‘show_count’, for example. That said, the description you mentioned is as out-of-date as on Codex.
Also, why developers do not warn about functions changing output format and/or interface, in release notes?
The above change cost me several hours of correcting code using wp_tag_cloud(), after WP update on a site caused part fo its functionality to break.
