In reply to: How to stop different category posts getting on front default page?Handy, I went there and downloaded ‘4.0 DownloadBeta5’ and then followed the instructions and it made a mess of everything. I unzipped it and uploaded it to Plugins and then activated the plugin. And everything in ‘Manage’ turned out a mess, and my front page was gone??
Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong?

Any suggestions?

I searched layout CSS and got this:
blockquote {
margin:0;
padding:0 18px;
font-style:normal;There is nothing there about background color
I searched Spring Flavor CSS (Blix theme) and got nothing?
Can anyone help?

I was able to simply cut and paste it into my index and page templates and it works fine there, so all I am really asking for is a way to cut and paste it into my comments pages?

Does this mean that if I paste my java script in the head, without a call to it, it will work?

In reply to: Cut and paste from MS Word problemsJust a note to say that I have fixed the problem now. But what a headache. After reading the forums I found many people who have fallen into the same trap of cutting and pasting from MS Word. This really causes problems. I haven’t seen any warning signs about this (maybe I am not looking in the right places). Anyway, if a moderator reads this, it would be nice to have a sticky in big bold letters warning people about this, and, of course, other dangerous no no’s. I did read one quite humorous post about it, but I only found that thread after I had already started pulling my hair out.
Anyway, thanks everyone. I am now not going to use the rich text editor anymore (not that that is a problem – it is just easier to see problem code using the basic editor), and I definitely will not go anywhere near MS Word. I do want to keep the rest of my hair.

In reply to: Cut and paste from MS Word problemsMoshu, I deleted that post and my from page is looking good again, but I still have problems with my other pages. I will go through tomorrow and do a full clean and never use MS Word Again.
As a suggestion. I would be a good idea to have this problem highlighted somehow as a WARNING. I think many people fall into this trap without knowing it.
