Just came across this post that sheds some light:

This is a bit confusing seeing how we call it ‘Genesis Tabs’ then it’s known as ‘Featured tabs’ yet the last step of the directions say “On the “Widgets” screen, drag the “Genesis Slider” widget to the widget area of your choice, and configure.”
Yet there is nothing called “Genesis Slider”.
I’ll keep toying with the Featured Tabs to get it to work as shown in the demo (Using NewsPro Studiopress theme).
