  • I see what you mean then. Still… I’m sure there will be future improved versions. And one always has the option to use something else. Me… since I only really need one contact form, I’ll look for alternatives as well as tips on how to configure this one. But since I have no idea how to implement anything that is in more pieces than one snipplet of code that can be pasted into a template, I’ll probably use the plugin.

I’m new to this and I understand very little, but doesn’t the regular WP stylesheet get loaded on every generated page as well?
I found that when I added these styles to my stylesheet, the form adopted the background color of my comment and search forms, which is nice. The button remains a different color tho.

I’m also finally getting the form to work thanks to your instructions. Much appreciated!

I cannot however find the css name for the form button. I need to call it something if I’m going to give it the same background color as my other buttons. Does anyone know what it is called? Also I cannot alter the width of the main text input field. Any ideas on that?

Yes! That worked beautifully. Trying it now on a different test page. Thank you for the tip!

One thing though… this page template doesn’t realize that it isn’t the front page, so all my links are diplayed in the sidebar. Would love to know how to make a default template for all my upcoming underlying pages that don’t have the links in the sidebar.
(When I go into archives or categories the sidebar links list is not displayed so that code is already present in the sidebar document itself). Is there any way of making this new template page behave as an underlying page?

Really? It looks ok then? … hmmm. Good to hear that nothing is pushed down now. Would still like to have the left margins in archives and categories match the regular pages though. Somehow.
Thank you for your kind words and beta testing!

Dear God, I have been searching for that feature for hours! Why is it placed there of all places? 🙂

    Thanks!

Ok… think I’ll just forget about that project for now. This menu has to be redone completely anyway, I now realize after a few days of thinking. If you read this far then I apologize for wasting your time.

Yes… yes I have tried that. As far as I can tell there isn’t a defined style for the button. But as anyone could tell you… I’m no expert. My biggest concern now tho, is that if it doesn’t work properly or even appear at all in most browsers, then there isn’t any point in using it until those bugs are fixed. Could be just me who is doing something wrong. I don’t know. Think I’ll remove it for the time being and try something else.

Ok… this doesn’t appear at all in IE on a MAC… does anybody know of another nifty way of making a contact form within WP? I suppose I could make a separate page with a contact form on it, attach the stylesheet from my WP theme and then just link to this page from the sidebar.

Actually… someone just sendt me a screenshot from a PC… (I have a MAC) and everything is completely wrong. So I guess I have to redo it all somehow. Sigh.

No… couldn’t get that to work at all. How does this fit together with the neighboring code for the headline (Navigate) and the list of pages following?

Great! That worked beautifully! Thank you!! Thanks also for the info on the (li)-tags. I’m not sure I understand what to do with all the other 5 billion instances of badly placed (li)-tags, but I’ll try and do something about it.
You really saved my day here, Kafkaesqui! Thank you!

Ok. Never mind. I’m switching host. Once I get the new hosting, MySQL is included so I might as well forget about the entire local weblog and concentrate on a proper online one.

No, waut… the | symbol was in the index file like you said. I need to rest my eyes. It was right there in front of me. Now everything looks great. Almost.

    Thank you again all!!!

Oops. I should have pointed out that the site isn’t online at all. I want to see if I can figure this out before I go and do the entire change-host-to-one-that-has-mysql-and-more-storagespace thing.
That’s why I had to make due with the clumsy description.

RustIndy, you called it with the #content information. I didn’t know that. I just added #content to the tag with the other meta link colors and now the heading font color no longer overrides that one link color. Very nice.

I do actually have that Firefox plugin but I had disabled it after install and forgotten about it. Knew it would come in handy one day and I guess that would be right about now. Another useful tip, thank you!

As for the | , the search continues. I now suspect that it may be located in wp-admin/edit-comments.php. Maybe, maybe not. I searched the entire site in Dreamweaver for the symbol | , and it found 249 of them. I guess it’s a common php code symbol as well as being a usefull divider on-page. Will eliminate all | ‘s that are in theme files, apply some logic and in the worst case go through them all one by one.

Thank you all for your help! You guys are very generous with your time!
