OK – spent a couple hours digging through their code and found it!
1. Install JetPack and connect to wordpress.com
2. Go to Appearance > Customize
3. After Connecting (not just installing, you must connect) You’ll see a new option called “Featured Content”
4. Click it and type whatever tag you want in the “tag name”
5. Hit the blue save button
6. Go to whatever post you were wanting to use the image from and tag it with the tag name you just created.
Bam! You are done. Hope that helps a ton. I lost a fair bit of hair learning investigating this. Wish they would have just put together a quick document to illustrate.

Hey Barry,
Thanks for the feedback. Well, as I went back to the website today and un-commented the code… everything appeared as normal. I made the suggested code edit above anyway (as it appears the plugin is pulling future events from this month only) but won’t know whether it worked or not until after the 13th.
I’ll post a response as soon as the ‘stars align’ for the glitch I had.
