… actually, in reading the instructions, it does say “To add an image to a slide, click the Set featured image link to load the WordPress media uploader.” … so it was my fault for now reading them properly the first time 🙁
i had the same problem but resolved it by editing each image and clicking the “set featured images” (which wasn’t intuitive to me). Maybe that will help you too?
