Ok, I got the answer. I thought you might like to know about it, in case this comes up again:
Thank you for contacting support. I checked the Apache logs and found the ModSecurity is blocking the upload because of the “Request body (Content-Length) is larger than the configured limit” This can not be changed since you are on a shared server.
The size 134217728 roughly is 134.22 MB. So the files larger that that won’t be able to be uploaded. The only way to increase this limit would be to upgrade to a VPS where you have root level access to make these changes.Thank you again for your kind efforts. I saw the uploads. The issue comes when I’m uploading a larger file , greater than 100 megs. As I want to use this to allow fans to upload videos, I set the maximum size to 1 gig – both in the plugin and the php files.
I tried this with different size files. Up to 133 megs worked. Anything 140 or over didn’t. Would it be at all helpful if I pasted in the info from the Network tab of Inspect Mode? The debug.log file doesn’t show anything new, just repeats of what you already saw.
I’m guessing the size limit is a clue, but where that can be changed is beyond me. The network tab references admin-ajax.php as being what fails.
Thank you again, I really appreciate your help.I managed to get it to work somewhat. For some reason, it suddenly started reporting the form had an error and the limit for uploads was 8 megs. I clicked on “fix form”, and after clicking on the upload file field saw that there was a setting for maximum size. I changed it to 1024 megs. Then I was able to successfully upload an 89 meg file. But when I tried it again with a 185 meg file, it bombed out.
So we’re getting somewhere. I think. Same 500 internal server error for admin-ajax.php.Thank you for your quick response. A screenshot would require several, so here is the information from the Header section. :

I just got off a chat with tech support for my hosting company. We tried turning off ModSecurity (didn’t help). I enabled debug logging, but for some reason no log is being generated .

In reply to: Graphic in titleI’ve found the error – it’s in the Bytetips theme that I’m using. It calls Category-18.php for the teaser posts. The coding uses:

I can’t figure out how to fix it, since if I remove it the posts with graphic comes out great, but the non-graphic ones end up being the wrong font size.
I realize how swamped you are, but if you have any suggestions I would sure appreciate it. Bytetips doesn’t seem to be doing WP anymore.

In reply to: Graphic in titleI’m stumped. When I try it with the default theme, it messes up his entire site (which is PHP coded, not by me, and doesn’t use WP as a basis).
No idea why, but I suspect it may have something to do with the way the summaries are posted on his main page. Perhaps it’s something in the way the page is coded. Anyway, thanks for your generous help and time. At least I know I did it the right way!Forum: Fixing WordPress

yes, I used the “Post Thumbnail” command. I chose one from the Gallery, kept it as a thumbnail, clicked “insert into Post”, then clicked “Save all changes”. I also tried again, this time using “use as Thumbnail” instead of “insert into Post”.
I’m using the Bytetips theme with no Widgets. I added the line add_theme_support(‘post-thumbnails’); so the functions.php looks like:

In reply to: Graphic in titleI tried it, but it still doesn’t show the thumbnail. I tried inserting the thumbnail into the post, and then I tried the “use as thumbnail” option. Neither one would generate the picture along with the title. I also tried it with and without the code in the title.
Any other ideas as to how this might work? I appreciate your time, thanks!

What I had to do was create a new category. Then I created a page in the Themes directory – bytetips, in this case. I called the page category-18.php, as that was the number of the new category. The page had only the content loop – no header, footer, sidebars, etc. I then put an include on the front page of the website:
<?php include (‘http://www.sabellastudios.com/wordpress/?cat=18’); ?>and bada bing bada boom – there it is!

In reply to: Link from site home page?Well, I’ve tried all the suggestions but still can’t get this to work. The problem is that all of the wordpress stuff is in the wordpress directory, not the root directory. I don’t know how to change the code so that the path will be correct, coming from the main page of the site (the wordpress section works fine!)
Any thoughts would be very welcome!
