Just want to update about this. The problem was a conflict with the “404 Redirected” plugin in my case.
I have a similar problem. I can get the List of adds on the front end using “Show Ad page” but when I click on a perticular add it is not openning individually but reload the same Show Ad page page. I am using Responsive theme.

The problem I had I can add only only drop down box there with all categories. Is it possible have few drop down boxes with top level categories?
