In reply to: [Gutenberg] Ouch, it hurts; make it stop?I have the classic editor installed already, maybe I will take another look at Gutenberg when I have a little more time, but I can use the Crayon plugin so fast that it is a deal breaker so it will have to be at some point when the devs get chance to update it.

In reply to: [Gutenberg] Ouch, it hurts; make it stop?I think what I am trying to say is that there are different types of people who use wordpress, and probably in equal numbers. There are those that need to just lay down information and those that want to make it presentable. I cannot speak for the latter, albeit I believe that they will clearly benefit from Guttenberg, but how I use it (and for obvious reasons, most of the sites I visit use it in the same manner) all that I want to be able to do is paste information into the editor and very quickly format it by highlighting chunks that might be code or shell commands to use with the highlighter plugin. Other than that it is Bold, Underline, indent, and Bullets (and that is pretty much it).
The best way that I can describe it is that there is a place for notepad and a place for ms word (or QT and VIM if you prefer) and I use both in my workflow even though the more complex example is perfectly capable of doing the job of the simpler application I just find it easier and faster to use the simplest application for simple tasks.
Here https://blog.inplico.uk/?p=61 is an example of how I am using wordpress, it just does not lend itself well to blocks (albeit that I can appreciate crayon syntax plugin itself creating a block, it is not a block within a block).
One of the things that didn’t help (and I can appreciate that this is noting to do with wordpress) is that Crayon syntax highlighter plugin (which I use extensively) doesn’t play nice with it.
PS. Sorry for the long reply!
