you need to be logged in to your wordpress site in order for it to work, so not an ideal situation if you are wanting visitors or users of a website to be able to update records, but you can do.You will need to configure the different roles and select who belongs to each role.

have a look at this link, it might helpEdit your notifications under settings for the form, and enable conditional logic.
