Thanks to clarify that topic. Does not make sense for us that Matomo need some extra effort to fix that. Maybe there is a Matomo Update coming soon to fix that for everyone using Matomo?
Noted. What we notice in our dashboard that there is a huge amount of user that just have a duration time of 1 second. We have doubt that this is tracked correctly. Might this a general pattern that is shown in Matomo cos of reason xy?
Thanks.
Thanks for the reply.
In summary:
Cookie-less tracking: Only difference to cookie tracking is that there is no unique visitor ID given to the user. This means that matomo does not know precisely if it is a unique visitor, returing visitor etc. also conversions can not be tracked down precisely to a user.
But duration time and all other statistics can be tracked even when the user denied the cookies and coolie-less tracking is coming in, right?
Please, confirm or correct us based on our summary about the tracking in matomo. Thanks.
“If there is no tracking consent given, Matomo will not track the visitor at all.” -> This does not match the fact that there is a filter in matomo: profitable 0 means that only user that didnt gave consent are shown on the dashboard. I’m very confused.
Please give us clearity to understand how the tracking is happing in matomo for all user and these user that arent tracked but it seems that all user are tracked some with cookies and others with different tracking techiques.
Thanks for the reply. Which category are user that ignore the cookie banner and have no interaction with it? Do they count as “give no tracking consent”?
Another open question is: How precise is the duration time tracking of a user when he gives consent? Because there are a lot user that gave consent but have a duration time of 1-2 seconds which is strange.
Thanks.

Thanks. So what pattern separates them in the dashboard then? When I look at the dashboard I want to know what is going on. To be able to do that I need to know how matomo handles the different tracking scenarios and how they are shown in the dashboard.
Thanks for the reply.
How does blocking the cookies as a user impact the shown duration time in matomo? Its been said that no personal informations are collected when cookies are blocked from the user but that seems to be not true when I apply the filter for user that have blocked the cookies. I’m looking for a pattern of what matomo presents in the dashboard. In the dashboard I can see that most users that blocked the cookies only have a duration time of 1-3 seconds but there also a few who have a duration time of more than 30 seconds.
In conclusion: Is it true that duration time is tracked till a user blocks the cookies? And if he doesnt interact with the cookie banner at all he will be tracked in some way?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the reply.
Cache cleared, issue still there.
Forth and back switch in the position done, issue still there.
Deactivated WP Rocket, issue still there.
Any other suggestions?
“How are user tracked if the reject the cookies? We would like to track “potential clients” that reject the cookies.”
-> We are still not sure how not tracked users that denied the cookie banner are shown in the matomo dashboard. Is there any metric that labels the user as not tracked user aka after user denied the cookies?
Unfortunately the shared blog post link is not helping at all with our deep question. Are you able to answer them as the official plugin support? Looking forward to your news.
Regards!
Thanks! Issue solved-

In reply to: [Complianz - GDPR/CCPA Cookie Consent] Hubspot integration in ComplianzHi Aert!
Thx for the reply.
Your screenshot is from Hubspot, correct? To clarify, we want to use complianz cookie banner but integrate Hubspot there.
Correct me if I got it wrong.
