Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingOKay now when I try to add media nothing happens. Not trying to start a new problem thread, just saying why I’m currently unable to try a small mp3 test file hosted on my server. I suppose I could strong arm it up there manually, but going out of band like that I don’t know whether WordPress would have it in its media library. I know I was able to add media via the GUI earlier because I did it.

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingI wasn’t looking for help on the new problem in this thread. Sorry… if I was actually stating a problem looking for help I’d be way more precise. 🙂 It was just explaining why I’ve been otherwise engaged trying to fix that one that seems more basic, and haven’t been able to pay attention to the one under discussion here. There is already a thread about it I’m all over it. as time allows. Thanks!

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingTried the dropbox Yes the file name has an mp3 extention, but STILL, THAT didn’t work. It still didn’t produce a player. Now I have another problem, every time I try to update it does it but it moans and groans about some expired link.

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingOK I have a free dropbox with some space. But before I try that I need to troubleshoot, so just for testing purposes I will upload one to the blog host server, if that doesn’t work then we have a bigger issue. I’ll get back to you and let you know how that worked. And THANK YOU FOR STICKING WITH ME. I hope this thread will be useful for others when we finally get it solved.

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingI would really rather host most of the non recurring media offsite. 2.7MB is not much but I plan to have a large amount of audio and video files in the blog when I launch it, and my VPS is rather small. I set the filesize limit for uploads to 2MB. I could upload it as a MIDI in this case, is their a MIDI player plugin?

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingI unescaped the quotes. It’s still just a link…. now the link actually goes to the mp3 file (could have done that with just a simple link) but I want an audio player INLINE.

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingI escaped the quotes. Maybe I shouldn’t have done that. And I am in the text, not the visual editor, because of the Quara code. I wanna know why the quora block appears twice too since the code is only there once. But the more pressing problem is to get an audio player EMBEDDED in my blog posts.

In reply to: audio shortcode just not workingWell, I tried what you suggested Hmmmm no way to put a picture. Well now it just shows the URL of the audio file but if you click it it links back to the blog post. I was expecting a little audio player. Maybe I should host it somewhere that it puts the mp3 on the end of the link?
Here is the post I thought I put it in the last comment

In reply to: WordPress Native Audio Player not displaying properlyIt doesn’t work for me either. I’m currently using the Muso theme which leaves a lot to be desired. I guess I’ll have to get a different theme and report back.

In reply to: Change an Iframe sourceOK I failed to surrond the script with document ready. I didn’t think I had to since it is triggered by a change. But oh well. It works now.

In reply to: Change an Iframe sourceOK well it doesnt seem to work outside of wordpress either, so I guess this is not a wordpress issue. But still if anyone knows.
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Link Library] How to use this 101If that is all you need to do you don’t need this plugin. You can just make a link page and if your theme has a links.php template use it. Any theme worth its salt should have one but if yours doesn’t google links.php wordpress and you can find one.
I hate subscribing to blogs and my regular users do too.
