It is still an annoyance. It is inconvenient to have to have a online backend hosted by another party. The server load argument is ridiculous, considering the cheapness of AJAX calls.
I understand you are doing business, but it would be cooler for smaller blogs to have offline data and a one-time fee and then some for updates.
For enterprise applications, this may be cool, though.
