So the moral of the story is, set up a super simple test message. Subject: Test
in the body just “Test”
Anything more like I had, and you are potentially chasing a red herring!Yes two factor authentication works.
The setup is to use the “Other smtp”. I did not use the Gmail setup you provide.
During this whole process, I learned a lot.
You can use your gmail address and password as log in parameters or you can use your gmail address and then set an App password. You must allow “Less secure Apps”
What the gmail setup does not tell anyone is that you must also manage a bunch of DNS entries if you use your domain.
So you must set MX records and SPF records. DMARC is recommended as well.
A lot will depend on the google tech you get. The firs day was great. The second and third was a waste of time. The enhanced support got it solved out in about an hour. Nothing more than the gmail SMTP spam filter. It all got resolved today….
It took 4 hours of Google support and then an escalation to a higher level tech…
What finally was the solution was to change the subject of the email…
It was set to “Notificati0on of Product Sale”
That was enough to stop the gmail SMTP server from sending my messages.
Three days of working with gmail on this….Here is the header of the bounced email (domains and email addresses changed…)

Looking at the support questions here, it seems that this product is not supported.
Very few answers. To bad.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: 4900+ URL errors after hackWell, as far as I know, they fixed access to the site but do not necessarily handle content.
Will these firms go in and find the 5000 pages with broken links?
I mean sitelock promised to get all working but obviously not. Why would I believe these companies?
ThanksForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Google and Bing pick up garbage for home pageWell, Yoasts is disabled, and the problem is gone. All pages get indexed correctly and the right descriptions show up.
Of course you realize, Yoasts is now Toast.

In reply to: Google and Bing pick up garbage for home pageWell, Array Themes says the problem comes from Yoasts. Here is a quote:
“If your site is being optimized by the Yoast plugin, that’s where the hiccup is likely happening. The header.php file of Paperback outputs wp_head(); as expected, and this is where your site title and page descriptions are being output. SEO plugins modify wp_head(); to change the output of those titles and descriptions.”
This is what I get on a search of va2fsq.com
So, what’s up? I get garbage on the Google search for my website and my product. I get this whereas before Yoasts and a basic theme there was no issue. Can someone help out please?
Thanks

In reply to: Google and Bing pick up garbage for home pageHi,
Will do.
ThanksThis is very good, thank you.
Since the whole SEO idea is new to me, I can see how the Yoast plugin can help. Especially since you helped me fix my error! You made my day!
Best regards, TomHi,
OMG, thank you. All I did was to put enable pretty links and now it works!
As you can tell, I’m a newbie at WordPress. If you don’t mind I have a couple of questions:
1) Is is possible that my file manager just doesn’t show .htaccess? Seems it is there on a search but I can’t download or look at it.
2) Will the pretty permalinks mess anything up?
3) My website has been around for a few years. All relevant google searches always put me on the first page of results since it is such a niche market. Will installing Yoasts cause issues?
Again thank you very much for helping out.
TomOnly error on my site is that the file does not exist! I know that, sitemap doesn’t exist!
