In reply to: 404 error after changing and updating URL in databaseThanks esmi, I really appreciate all your help. So my host provider asked for my WP login details and resolve the issue for me.
I asked what the problem was, they told me the issue was between my .htaccess file and permalink.
I checked the file again and they didn’t change anything there. I just sent them another mail now to tell me what they actually did in case of next time. Hoping they will reply and not hoard the knowledge.

I change permalink to plain, delete all items in .htaccess file, then change permalink back to my custom format. Still 404 errors.
But I noticed the .htaccess file is still empty. I’m thinking after I have saved my custom format, the file supposed to have rewrite itself with new items right???
