I’m having trouble with the shortcode for (2) though.
Grouped is fine, but I can only sort it by month, noth category… I don’t seem to find the actual search attribute to display the list of all events grouped by category. Anything I oversee?

I am not too afraid of custom coding, trial and error usually works (after hours and some support :p ) but it would be a very nice feature to have (at least to be able to choose). Maybe you might concider taking this into a future release.
