Yes, a separate tracking plugin is needed, as TrackShip only functions after the order is shipped. It takes tracking information from the order that is added via plugins like Advanced Shipment Tracking, YITH, or others.

All the shipment emails are send from your store like order status(processing/completed) email.
To ensure that these emails are being sent correctly, kindly confirm that you have set up cronjobs and that wp-cron.php is running smoothly from your server. If not, please refer to this guide for assistance in setting up cronjobs.
For prompt assistance, we recommend contacting TrackShip through your account.

In reply to: [TrackShip for WooCommerce] ASTHi, I think you’re confusing our plugin with your shipment tracking plugin (AST), TrackShip does not have the functionality to add tracking info to orders, we get the tracking info that you add with the shipment tracking plugin when you fulfill (ship) your orders
Hi, the version willbe released soon, it will work for the future and not for old orders. We do not have a way to delete the notes from old orders.

Hi @joyryde – You can find this option in the General settings, also it will work for future shipment status notes and will not delete the old order notes.
I checked your screenshot and I understand your scenario better. We will also remove the SMS order notes for the next version since this info is anyway available in the logs. We will release the new version in the next couple of days.

Yes, that option was added in the latest version of TrackShip for WooCommerce, from this cersion, by defaut we will not print the shipment status updates in order notes and you can enable it for adding the shipment status updates to the order notes
