I tried to update my review from 1-star to 4-star but it wouldn’t let me.
Being true to my word, I updated from 1-star to 4-star because they changed it to my liking. The plugin is still overkill for experienced devs but great for newbies not knowing how to enable SSL.

It’s not everyday that I go out of my way to give out 1-star ratings but your plugin earned it handily. Stop the DEACTIVATE & REVERT TO HTTP as you default option. Cut that crap out right now.Forum: Plugins

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] E-Mail not being sentHi @nittygrittytechy and thanks for the comments!
Don’t worry about the video, I understood you perfectly.
Do you have an email/SMTP plugin installed? I suspect maybe your server is not doing well at getting PHPmail out? For sure, everyone should be able to get replies from other visitors as well.

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] Turn off NotificationsHi @petedw,
It’s probably not too hard but I prioritize my time for clients and tend to my plugins when I have free time. I personally don’t think it’s such an essential feature as site comments tend to stop after some time anyways. I’ve used my plugin exactly like this on busy sites for many years without ever having a single person asking to unsubscribe.
Regardless, I’ve made a note of your request and will look into it sometime.

In reply to: [WP Featherlight Disabled] Disable Gallery Modal FeatureThe core function of this plugin is the modal. But with that said, this plugin doesn’t load unless you manually enable. I’m confused where your request is.
It’s not a feature request.
Whatever you felt was the correct default from many years is no longer the case. At this point, I’m taking it as a shady way of scaring unsavvy users to be reliant on your plugin.
My 1-star review stands until you change this default behavior. Hiding the alternative option in the settings is not cool. Either put them side-by-side or let the default not revert back to HTTP.
My wish reflects my review, which reflects my honest experience with your plugin. I don’t speak for anyone else. Feel free to disregard if you don’t value it.

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] E-Mail not being sentZero impact on performance. They don’t load anything on frontend. I’m an absolute speed fanatic.

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] E-Mail not being sentIMO, you should simply use SMTP email plugin. Don’t even bother trying to do diagnose phpmailer deliverability. Even if it “sends”, it doesn’t mean the clients receive. All serious businesses use transactional email service anyway for these kinds of things.

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] E-Mail not being sentIf you’re 100% sure other emails are being sent, then it has to be an issue with my plugin. But it might also be that your client email server accepts phpmailer whereas your admin email server doesn’t. I assume you’re not getting the comment notification emails to your admin email address, right?

In reply to: [Comment Reply Email] E-Mail not being sentThat’s not related to my plugin. Seems your webhosting doesn’t allow phpmailer, or that your receiving email provider doesn’t accept phpmailer emails from your web-server.
You should install an email plugin like WP Mail SMTP and set up your email with SMTP authentication. That will have better deliverability.
