i was adjusting my security options a while back yes on the security widget then all of a sudden it locked me out .. but then i was able to get back in.. now i cannot….how can i delete the security plugin if i cant login to my admin pafe? what is the FTP control panel? and how do i find that?

Hey thanks for tha, i have downloaded the lastest wp version but i am stuck with when it says — unpack the zip file you have downloaded what does that actually mean? and deactiveate plugins…and how do i delet the old wp on my web host — through FTP? no idea what that means….. i can see the recently downloaded wp version on my download file… please help!

For these instructions, it is assumed that your blog’s URL is http://example.com/wordpress/.

Step 1: Replace WordPress files
Get the latest WordPress zip (or tar.gz) file.
Unpack the zip file that you downloaded.
Deactivate plugins.
Delete the old wp-includes and wp-admin directories on your web host (through your FTP or shell access).
Using FTP or your shell access, upload the new wp-includes and wp-admin directories to your web host, in place of the previously deleted directories
