Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Update Failed: Unable to locate needed folder (plugins).Thank you t-p for your reply.
Before i answer your question, let me clarify more details.
The issue happens only when I upgraded from 4.5.3, I can upgrade from 4.5.4 fine.
One of the files affected with the update on 4.5.4 is this one:/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php
In fact, as i mentioned in my original entry, both the upgrade or install did take place (refreshing showed the plugin was indeed updated/installed), but instead of reporting Plugin was updated, it throws above error. So in essence, the error is pointless .
My server is configured to ask for ftp credentials which i entered after clicking “Update now”. I don’t install them manually (nor do i want that).
My guess is file:
/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php
from WordPress version 4.7 is not backward compatible with 4.5.3..
I could be wrong…

In reply to: [Custom User Profile Photo] How can i change upload directorySorry, forget about the above. Here’s my updated query:
It doesn’t show avatars by default on my theme. Added the code to a template and photo showed. But can’t have it retrieved by buddypress which outputs the avatar like this:
<img src=”/wp-content/uploads/avatars/26/254fa159e1c3d19a9b645beb22d97d86-bpfull.jpg” class=”avatar user-26-avatar avatar- photo” width=”460″ height=”460″ alt=”Avatar Image” />
I want the avatar to upload to /wp-content/uploads/avatars/$user_id
$user_id folder is created on the fly after the user uploading the avatar
Thank you for your support
I used the custom shortcode and it made no difference. Still duplicate images shown on the overlaid popup. Deactivated Nextgen but the issue persisted.
The only solution was to reset all edited settings by clicking “Delete options”. Reset/save alone doesn’t seem to reverse custom settings.
so I cannot enter any custom settings.another thing i noticed when I deactivated Nextgen was that I lost the overlaid popup and clicking on thumbs showed the images on an external url (google’s as i use Picasa). so am still dependent on Nextgen to display overlaid popup panel.
Hi Mbrsolution, thank you for providing me with the link. I did check it but unfortunately it is not related to my issue. I forgot to add that i have Nextgen installed and use the the gallery shortcode. Probably the extra duplicate image is triggered by Nextgen.
I did not want to try the custom shortcode as its instances are not removed automatically if i deactivate the plugin.

In reply to: [Events Maker by dFactory] Tie location to event on locations pageI noticed the Locations are already tied by an event parameter as when i view the list of locations in the backend, I see the event count before each location. So may be just checking the event end date/time in the WHERE clause should do the trick.
not that it is an easy job.
Appreciate your efforts and time put into making this great service to a lot of people. Kudos

In reply to: [Events Maker by dFactory] Booking system featureAlso, there are times where Longitude and latitude are helpful to generate an accurate Google map. Like when there isn’t postal code available or just a generic address say for a river or a trail.

In reply to: [WP Athletics] Cannot edit athlete's namehad to delete them from the built-in wp users.
Updating their name from wp users does not work.May be if you login as the user but it is hard for admin to login for 300 members to manage such stuff.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP Athletics] Hide DOB function is not workingResolved.
You need to login as the user and tick hide dop from page Manage users.
Though would be great to have this checkbox on the athelete creation form for admin when you add them as unregistered. You select their dob from the calendar and below you check the checkbox to hide or unhide before posting their user info into db.Forum: Reviews

In reply to: [Game Schedules] This plugin causes the widget.php file to go for a loopMy outlook mailbox blocked the js files, would you mind resending them as zipped? (if possible at all).

In reply to: [Game Schedules] Cannot view games, teams or schedules – Page not found errorHaven’t read the manual yet, was going to test the widget part of it when the wp widget panel could not load due to plugin conflict with some other functionality. Once i receive the modified js files in zip format (my outlook blocked them), I will report how it went.
