I’ve run into this issue as well. For me, I think it’s a memory issue, meaning that it can’t generate the sitemap due to the sheer amount of data it has to process. It may not be the same thing, but that’s what I’ve run into.
Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solution yet, outside of increasing the server memory limit.
