An update on this:

GiveWP looked into this and found that when trying to edit a campaign there was a  403 Forbidden error.

This was due to the fact that the server had a security setting to block OPTIONS requests. Once OPTIONS requests were allowed, campaigns started loading without an issue.

Thank you very much for your reply and for looking into this.

On the live website, we changed the setting you suggest (we enabled Hide Admin Bar Reports) but nothing changed. Then we temporarily deactivated the plugin, but, still, nothing changed.

On the basic setup, both plugins mentioned above are deactivated. I understand this can still cause issues, so we installed GiveWP on other websites to see whether it would work. On some it did, on others it didn’t. We were unable to make out a pattern concerning where it does or does not work.
