I think plugin does not affect site-loading time in front-end mode with no users logged in (for website visitors). Also for single logged in admin user plugin’s resource consuming is reasonable. However, main purpose of this plugin is to record actions of many logged in users. I do not have such conditions on my site at this moment and cannot measure it.
Simple way to reduce resource consuming of the plugin is to switch off logging of some events (alerts) in the plugin settings page. You may leave switched on only few necessary for your needs events.
