We only use Stripe through Forminator, there are no other plugins that use it. There were no updates at the time, it just started giving the error message suddenly when clients tried to book and pay using the form.

All traffic has been normal on the site, there is no evidence on analytics of any attacks etc on the pages. The form is protected by the Honeypot option and Capture and never had an issue.

I tried the fix you advised of removing field and clearing cache but still getting the below error message :

Unrecognized request URL (GET: /v1/payment_intents/). If you are trying to list objects, remove the trailing slash. If you are trying to retrieve an object, make sure you passed a valid (non-empty) identifier in your code. Please see https://stripe.com/docs or we can help at https://support.stripe.com/.
