Dear @firstwireapp,
Thank you for your message and for providing the details, including the theme you’re using.
We understand your concern regarding the cart behavior — when clicking the reorder button, the selected product(s) from the previous order replace the current cart contents, and previously added items are removed.
Please note that this is standard WooCommerce behavior. When a previous order is repeated, WooCommerce clears the existing cart before adding the reordered items. This approach ensures that the new order reflects exactly what was previously purchased, without mixing with other cart items.
At this time, our plugin follows this standard and does not support merging the reordered products with existing cart contents. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a custom solution for this functionality. However, if WooCommerce introduces such a feature in the future, we would be happy to consider supporting it accordingly.
We appreciate your understanding and are happy to assist with any other questions or concerns you may have.
Best regards,
Poly-res TeamDear @firstwireapp,
Thank you for your message and for letting us know that you’re experiencing issues with the plugin after your recent site update.
To better understand the situation, could you please clarify the specific behavior you’re referring to? In your initial message, you mentioned that the cart is emptied when triggering a repeat order — is this still the main issue you’re encountering?
We’ve thoroughly tested this behavior in our current environment and were not able to reproduce the problem — triggering a repeat order correctly adds the previous items to the cart without removing them unexpectedly.
You also mentioned a scenario where other products are added to the cart before the repeat order is triggered. Please note that this functionality has never been supported, as it is not part of standard WooCommerce behavior. Our plugin strictly follows WooCommerce conventions, where a repeat order will replace the current cart contents, not merge with them. This ensures the integrity of the repeated order.
Additionally, we want to confirm that no recent updates have been made to our plugin. If the functionality changed, it is likely due to changes elsewhere on the site — possibly within your theme or other installed plugins.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.
Warm regards,
Poly-resDear @firstwireapp,
Thank you very much for your message and for taking the time to investigate the issue further.
We understand that the problem may be related to a conflict with the Addify – Advanced Product Quantity plugin. Even though it has been deactivated, the behavior persists — previously added items in the cart are removed when reordering a past purchase. We fully understand how this can be disruptive to the expected functionality.
We’d like to clarify that our plugin is based on standard WooCommerce behavior, which is designed to allow customers to reorder an entire previous order (1 to n products) as it was placed. After triggering a repeat order, customers are free to add or remove products in the cart before completing their new purchase.
At this time, our plugin does not support the use case where other products are added to the cart before the repeat order is triggered. In this scenario, the cart is intentionally reset to reflect only the repeated order. We understand this may not match all workflows, but it is currently the intended functionality.
We kindly ask for your understanding — this plugin is developed and maintained in our free time, and we do not have the capacity at the moment to implement this alternative cart handling behavior.
Thank you again for your feedback and for your understanding. Please let us know if you have any further questions or need help with anything else.
Warm regards,
Poly-res TeamDear @firstwireapp,
Thank you very much for reaching out and for providing details about the issue with our plugin.
We have tested the plugin in our environment using WordPress 6.8.1, Repeat Order for Woocommerce 1.3.3, WooCommerce 9.8.4 and the default “Storefront” theme provided by WooCommerce. In our testing, the plugin worked as expected — the previous order items were correctly added to the cart upon clicking the “Repeat Order” button.
Based on this, we suspect that a conflict with your current theme or another active plugin might be causing the cart to be emptied.
To help identify the source of the issue, we kindly ask you to follow these steps in a staging or test environment:
- Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and Repeat Order for WooCommerce.
- Switch your theme to the default WordPress theme, such as Twenty Twenty-Five.
- Test the functionality again by clicking the “Repeat Order” button.
- If the feature works as expected, proceed by reactivating your plugins one by one, testing the functionality after each activation.
- If the feature still works after all plugins are reactivated, then finally switch back to your original theme and test again.
This process should help pinpoint the exact source of the conflict.
Please let us know the outcome of your testing or if you need any assistance with these steps. We’re happy to support you further to ensure everything works smoothly.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation.
