The only solution I found is to feature the products, this means they appear in their categories. Having to copy the products was too time consuming. Once they are featured you should be able to remove them off the featured selection and they will hopefully stay put.
Sadly the theme creator doesn’t want to know and gave me a rubbish reply and the plugin I use want additional payments to look for the fix. Basically no one is willing to find the issue and fix it it seems.
